All three regions of this motorbike tour present the very best of what Europe offers to motorcycle riders; with Sardinia often being described as European ‘Number 1’ riding destination!
Tuscany is well known for its, almost unnaturally green hills, beautiful vineyards and many backroads connecting tiny hilltop villages dating from Ancient times. We’ll have a chance to enjoy famous Chianti wine, taste typical Tuscan food (no, it’s not only pizza and pasta there) and ride extraordinary roads up and down the region.
For most of tourists, Sardinia automatically translates to ‘Costa Smeralda’, e.g. 20 kilometers stretch of surreal beaches, white sand and crystal clear sea. For us riders, it translates to ‘an island of curves’ and we are positive those will put a big smile on your face! In a mix of outstanding riding, UNESCO World Heritage protected sites, and a bit of seaside glamour, we will make our way around the northern part of the island towards Corsica, known as ‘the mountain in the sea’.
Before we reach Venice again, five colorful villages that nestle on small inlets on rocky headlands, will be our rest day destination. It’s Cinque Terre, Italian National Park and another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This motorcycle tour of Corsica, Sardinia and Tuscany starts/finishes in Venice (airport VCE- Marco Polo). We suggest arriving a day or two prior the tour; having enough time to enjoy a cappuccino by famous Piazza San Marco, experience vaporetto Grand Canal ride or visit famous Murano islands.

Your guide will welcome you at the airport in Venice and the transfer to our first hotel will be organized. Depending on your arrival time, you can do some sightseeing after hotel check-in. Venice is a beautiful and charming city so you may choose to do a walk in the center, take a gondola through the Grand Canal or simply rest in your room. In the evening we will enjoy the traditional welcome dinner and we can discuss the routes, bikes, itinerary etc.
After morning briefing, we will start the day by riding through the delta of river Po; which is just perfect for getting comfortable on the bikes. As we will be passing by Bologna, famous lasagna or spaghetti ‘alla Bolognese’ will make a great local lunch stop. Just after, we will quickly reach the Apennine mountain range, enjoying first real curves on the tour. From this moment on, the twists and curves officially start. We will end the day in Tuscany, Province of Arezzo; surrounded by many small, beautiful medieval towns.
Next three days we’ll enjoy Tuscany at its best! Rolling our wheels along the picturesque green hills and valleys, visiting Tuscany’s hidden gems like Montepulciano, Montalcino and famous Chianti region, we’ll make our way to San Gimignano, charming little town with rich history and grand medieval architecture. A UNESCO World Heritage protected site.
Walking around the city walls, zipping cappuccinos and taking in as much of that Italian feeling as possible, will be one option for today. We are surrounded by outstanding riding roads, so the second option will be setting off on an afternoon ride and returning around sunset time, which will show you Tuscany at its best atmosphere. Leonardo Da Vinci’s birthplace is also just ‘around the corner’. Depending on the season, you could also embark on a truffle hunt, grape harvest or go foraging for asparagus. Plenty of options for sure.
More Tuscany on the Menu for today. After visiting Volterra for a morning coffee, we will continue our way towards another amazing attraction on this tour- the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Some interesting facts about its construction and the tilt will be presented while walking around the famous Campo dei Miracoli or ‘The Square of Miracles’. Still, we need to catch our overnight ferry to Sardinia (each having a private luxury cabin with bathroom) so we will continue towards Livorno after lunch.
It’s 6:30AM and the cabin crew wakes us up. Even if you turn off all speakers, that alarm you will hear. Well, it’s not bad, we are on Sardinia. Amazing riding awaits. This northern part of the island offers many riding possibilities, so we will head exactly in that direction. Low off-season traffic will make you think we reserved the roads only for ourselves. Across the National Park del Golfo di Orosei, we will reach Santa Maria Navarrese- a nice little coastal town and our destination for next two nights.
Only minutes away from all those great riding roads, each will be able to choose whether to ride, relax on beautiful close by beach, scuba-dive and many more. A true rest day by the beach.
Crazy fun twists will get us all the way to Bosa, colorful town on the other side of the island. Along, we will visit Su Nuraxi, the biggest and best preserved Nuraghi (type of ancient megalithic edifice) on the island; also one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are more than 7000 Nuraghi on the island; proving existence of Nuragic civilization from 1800 to 500 B.C.
Amazing riding along Sardinia continues. Our first treat of the day is a ride from Bosa to Alghero, often claimed as the best coastal ride on the island. Then comes Castelsardo; a picturesque historic town dominated by the castle ‘Castello dei Doria’ on top; worth making a stop and looking around. While some go for a typical cappuccino and mingle with the locals, others could make their way to the castle and enjoy the view of the city and the surrounding beaches. Last but not least: a ferry ride to Corsica and its famous Bonifacio is as scenic as it gets!
Today we ride all the way to Calvi in the north of Corsica. In a mix of costal and inland riding, we’ll reach the famous Calanche cliffs and the Gulf of Porto (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Furthermore north, our goal for next two nights is Calvi; small, typical and un-spoilt town with a true French feel; home of spectacular sunsets, superb cuisine and amazing beaches all around. Perfect for our two nights stay.
Walk around the citadel, enjoy roaming through the main promenade full of local joints, restaurants and luxurious yachts; hit the beach and do some water sports. Everything is possible. Of course, we will have few riding options ready.
From the coast to the mountains- another outstanding day on the island it will be. What we prepared, is a ride to Corte, atmospheric town in the heart of mountainous Corsica. A few Corsican back roads will get us to Saint-Florent- popular meeting point of many local riders. Once a small fishing port, Saint-Florent managed to keep its charm in spite of all modern yachts and sailboats that replaced fishing boats through the years. Roads around represent the very best of Corsica and a few carefully selected ones will get us to Corte with almost no traffic at all.
Today’s highlight is ‘Cap Corse’, peninsula on the very north of Corsica. It is only 40km/25mi long and 10km/6mi wide, but offers spectacular coastal views and amazing riding. So after dramatic landscape of Mediterranean Sea ‘fighting’ the rocky cliffs, we’ll approach the port of Bastia, and embark on a four hours ferry ride back to Livorno on mainland Italy. Our destination is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cinque Terre.
Our last rest day on this tour we will spend in exploring Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterolo- five wonderful fishing villages that all make Cinque Terre (Five Lands) National Park. Although all are connected by roads on a stretch of only 18km/11mi, best way to explore each is by boat or train ride. Surely, you will have enough time to explore many walking paths on your own, join us for the boat ride or combine connections by both train and boat. Italy at its best!
Apennine mountains are again on our route, so before reaching mostly flat area around the river Po, we will ride the last twisties and sweepers on this tour. Prior to our return to Venice, we will have a chance to visit either a famous Ferrari Museum (museum dedicated to sports cars) or a Ducati museum; both iconic Italian brands. We will reach Venice in the afternoon; which does mean this tour has come to an end- but it will still live long after in our memories!
Depending on the departure time, we will may have more time to spend, so there will be several choices. Of course, your transfers to the airport will be arranged. We really hope you enjoyed the trip, wish you a good flight and of course- see you again!
